Lift Qi Up and Pour Qi Down – First Method (65mins)

Lift Qi Up Pour Qi Down and the Three Centres Merge Standing Form both belong to the First Method of Zhineng Qigong. Combined practice of the two can bring the effect of both gathering and nourishing Qi.

Lift Qi Up Pour Qi Down is a movement sequence that is relatively easy to learn and suitable for any health status. The movement aiding, you send your mind and Qi out to the universe, mix your Qi with the universal Hunyuan Qi and bring it back to nourish your body.

This can rapidly build up your Qi, which is important for improving both physical and mental/emotional health. The method feels very lovely as the external Qi, combined and unified with your body Qi, penetrates the body. It is also the foundation for external Qi transmission, which can be used from an early stage to treat minor illnesses in yourself, your family, friends or pets.

Preceding the method are two exercises that work to unblock the channels through which qi flows around the body. Squats especially benefit the lower body, stretching the upper. Done before the First Method they prepare your body to open itself and let unhealthy qi flow out and healing hunyuan qi flow in, so as to gain the most benefit from the First Method.

Three Centres Merge Standing Form (65mins)

The Three Centres Merge Standing Form is a mainly static form that primarily nourishes Qi in the body. It works at a deeper level than Lift Qi Up Pour Qi Down and bridges the passage from External Hunyuan to Internal Hunyuan practice.

Throughout much of the form your body remains in a particular fixed posture while your mind is drawn within, one thought replacing the many usually there. This facilitates the flow of blood and Qi, and with Jing, Qi, and Shen working together, all are nourished and qi is drawn in to the area of Lower Dantian.

This form helps correct physical posture and makes the body firmer and stronger. It is also very good for the mind and the sensory organs. When the mind is very quiet and has more qi to nourish the Shen, the sensory organs become sharper and more active. Supernormal abilities are also more likely to be developed by this form than by moving qigong.

The form is preceded by squats and stretching, which prepare the body to draw qi in.

Open-Close Pulling Qi + Building Qifield for
Qi Therapy (72mins)

Open-Close Pulling Qi is a technique of using the mind and hand movement to integrate internal Qi and universal Qi and draw it back to improve our Qi condition. When Qi is stronger and flows better, the body can function better.  This technique is very simple, easy to learn and very effective in improving your conditions. You can do it anywhere and anytime.

It is especially suitable for beginners, the elderly and the severely ill.  It can be used to deal with problems on a specific part of the body or strengthen it. Open-Close Pulling Qi is a good way to experience Qi. It is also a good way to help relieve someone’s pain.

Building Qifield for Qi therapy was the original recording done by Yuan Tze with the use of his special abilities. It carries strong Hunyuan Qi and information for healing. It is essential to get into a relaxed, calm, natural, respectful and humble state when receiving Qi for therapy. It is suitable for people who are weak and find physical movement difficult. Three Centres Merge Standing Form (76 mins)

Three Centres Merge Standing Form is an indispensable part of Qigong practice.  It is a method that is essential for building the foundation for the health of Qi and the body and the development of the consciousness.  It is highly recommended that practitioners make this form part of their daily practice regardless of what other forms they are doing.

Three Centres Merge Standing Form can be categorized as either a static or moving Qigong method. It works to internalise the Qi gathered from the practice of Lift Qi Up Pour Qi Down into the Lower Dantian which is the foundation for physical health.  Strong Qi in Dantian is also essential for the Second Method.  Therefore it is also a bridging form between the First Method and the Second Method.

Throughout much of the form the body remains in a particular fixed posture while the mind is drawn within, one thought replacing the many usually there. This facilitates the flow of blood and qi, and with Jing, Qi and Shen (body, qi consciousness) working together, all are nourished and Qi is drawn into the area of Lower Dantian.

This form helps correct physical posture and makes the body firmer and stronger. It is also very good for the mind and the sensory organs. When the mind is very quiet and has more qi to nourish Shen, the sensory organs become sharper and more active. Supernormal (special) abilities are also more likely to be developed by this form than by moving Qigong.

Body-Mind Form – Second Method (75 mins)

Body-Mind Form belongs to the Second Method of Zhineng Qigong. The essence of it is to unify the mind

and body in its practice. The level of Qi this method

works on is the ‘Internal Hunyuan Qi’, or more specifically, ‘Body-Shen Hunyuan’. The ten segments

work through the whole body, even to the extremities, with each segment on a specific part, from head to toe. Regular practice can stretch the sinews and tendons, strengthen the bones, give the body vigour and grace, smooth and harmonise the flow of channels, enhance health and develop the power of the mind.

Body-Mind Form is good for chronic and stubborn conditions where often channels are blocked because it is designed to open the channels. This method consists of 10 segments of simple, yet not so easy movements. They are especially good for parts of the body which are rarely worked on. Prolonged practice, combined with the work on other aspects of life such as consciousness, can bring your level of health to above what is normally seen as ‘healthy’.

Body-Mind Form and Leading Along Jingmai (80 mins)

Body-Mind Form and Leading Along Jingmai make the complete Second Method. Body-Mind Form works

mainly on promoting Qi flow vertically, while Leading Along Jingmai works on promoting Qi flow across the body. Combined practice of the two can strengthen Qi and blood flow of the whole body. The practice of

Leading Along Jingmai is to use hands to vibrate Qi in

and out of the body along the Qi channels. The mind, Qi, body and movement have to be in a unified state.  Leading Along Jingmai can also be used as an individual method to practice.

Zhineng CD No.10:

Five Qi Hunyuan Form – Third Method

Five Qi Hunyuan Form works on the pure Qi of the organs. The practice of the Third Method can strengthen the Qi of the organs and enables this Qi to harmonise with Hunyuan, which is the gathering centre of the pure Qi of the organs. Sustained practice of this method can not only enable us to achieve a good state of health but can also increase our ability to have emotions under control. It is also an essential step for progress in the level of qigong.

Organs are the centres of bodily functions and of the qi mechanism. Each organ has its own jing (physical aspect), Qi, and shen (emotional and mental aspect).  Thus the health of the organs is not only vital for our physical health but also for emotional and mental well-being.  Very often, our health problems originate in the organs.

Organ qi is at a deeper level than the other levels of qi we have worked on through the First and Second Methods.  Organ Qi cannot be moved solely by using consciousness or movement; therefore a different method is necessary to help us move on to a deeper level. More techniques such as movements, sounds, hand postures, emotions, and mind activities are all necessary for this purpose.

Return Pure Organ Qi to Hunyuan – simplified version of Third Method

Return Pure Organ Qi to Hunyuan is a shorter form compared to Five Qi Hunyuan Form. Although it cannot replace Five Qi Hunyuan Form completely, when time is limited for practice, it is a time-saving option.
